해설문

국문

조선(朝鮮) 선조(宣祖) 때 충신(忠臣) 양지(梁誌)선생을 향사하는 사우이다. 양지(1553~1592)의 본관은 남원(南原)이며 문양공(文襄公) 눌재(訥齋) 양성지(梁誠之)의 5대손이다. 1579년(선조 12년)국왕의 호위무사인 겸사복으로 출사하였고, 1583년(선조 16년)에는 별시무과에 급제 하였다. 임진왜란 때 삭녕군수로 삭녕성(지금의경기도 연천) 전투에 참전하여 왜군(倭軍)을 상대로 용전(勇戰)하다 순절(殉節)하였다. 1796년(정조 20년) 이조판서(吏曹判書)로 증직(贈職)되었고, 충민(忠愍)이라는 시호(諡號)를 받았고 정려(旌閭)가 내려졌다. 1860년 온양에 사우(祠宇)를 건립하였으나 일제강점기 때 허물어진 것을 1958년 후손들이 이곳에 사우를 옮겨 짓고 위패를 모셨다. 사우는 솟을문 형식의 삼문(三門)으로 주변에 회백색 돌담을 쌓았고, 그 안내 사당이 자리하고 있다. 사당 앞에는 1978년에 세워진 신도비가 있으며, 매년 음력 10월 18일에 선생의 순절을 기리는 제향을 봉행한다.

Pyojeolsa Shrine

This shrine is dedicated to Yang Ji (1553-1592), a civil official of the Joseon period (1392-1910).

Yang Ji was a 5th-generation descendant of Yang Seong-ji (1415-1482), a high-ranking official and prominent scholar. In recognition of his ancestor's merits, Yang Ji was given an official post in 1579 without taking the state examination. In 1583, he passed the state examination to become a military official and in 1592, he was appointed as magistrate of Sangnyeong (today's Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do). When Japan invaded Joseon that year, he died in a battle protecting his district. He was posthumously promoted to the position of Minister of Personnel, bestowed a commemoration of his allegiance, and awarded the posthumous title of Lord of Expeditious Loyalty.

Originally, this shrine was established in 1860 in Onyang where his descendants lived. However, by the early 20th century, it fell into disrepair. It was reconstructed in 1958 by his descendants at the current location. A stele commemorating Yang’s life and achievements was erected in front of the shrine in 1978. An ancestral ritual is performed here yearly on the 18th day of the 10th lunar month.

영문 해설 내용

표절사는 조선시대의 문신인 양지(1553-1592)를 모신 사당이다.

양지는 조선 전기의 고위 관리이자 저명한 학자였던 양성지(1415-1482)의 5대손이다. 선조의 공훈을 인정받아 1579년 양지는 과거시험을 치르지 않고도 지방 관직을 지냈고, 1583년 무과에 급제한 이후 1592년에는 삭녕(지금의 경기도 연천) 군수가 되었다. 같은해 임진왜란이 일어나자 삭녕에서 왜군을 상대로 싸우다가 전사하였다. 1796년 이조판서로 증직되었으며, 그의 충절을 기리는 정려와 ‘충민’이라는 시호가 내려졌다.

양지의 사당은 1860년 당시 양지의 후손이 살던 온양에 세워졌으나, 20세기 초에 허물어졌고, 1958년 후손들이 이곳에 사당을 다시 지었다. 사당 앞에는 양지의 생애와 업적을 기리기 위해 1978년에 세워진 신도비가 있다. 매년 음력 10월 18일에 제사를 지낸다.
