관청에서 치르는 제사나 행사를 준비하는 일을 맡은 집사들의 근무처이다. 우화관을 짓던 해인 1789년(정조 13)에 지었다. 평소에는 우화관에서 수령이 초하루, 보름에 절을 올리는 의례 준비도 담당했다. 집사의 역할이 의례 절차를 담당하고 있어 우화관 근처에 집사청을 둔 것이다. 집사는 화성의 판관과 인근 고을의 고위급 관리들이 차출되곤 했다.

집사청은 관청에서 치르는 제사나 행사를 준비하는 집사들이 근무하는 건물로 정조 13년(1789)에 건립되었다. 정조의 현륭원 행차를 비롯해서 왕이 화성에 내려와 진행하는 모든 행사를 준비했다. 평소에는 매달 초하루와 보름에 수령이 화성행궁의 객사인 우화관에서 올릴 의례를 준비하는 곳으로 쓰였다. 우화관 가까이에 있어 효율적인 배치이다.

Jipsacheong (Stewards' Office)

Jipsacheong was the office of jipsa, stewards of the temporary palace. The high officials of the Suwon and neighboring areas were appointed as stewards of temporary palace, and they were responsible for the preparation of rituals and large events held here. On the 1st and 15th days of each month, the magistrate of Suwon performed a ceremony at Uhwagwan in which he made a deep bow toward the royal capital, and the stewards managed this ceremony as well. Jipsacheong was built in 1789 along with Uhwagwan.

Steward's Office

This building was the office of stewards (jipsa) of the temporary palace. The high officials of Suwon and the neighboring areas were appointed as stewards and were responsible for the preparation of rituals and large events held here. On the 1st and 15th days of each month, the magistrate of Suwon performed a ceremony at the guesthouse, called Uhwagwan, in which he made a deep bow toward the royal capital, and the stewards managed this ceremony. The office was built in 1789 along with Uhwagwan Guesthouse.

영문 해설 내용

집사청은 행궁의 집사들이 사무를 보던 건물이다. 집사는 수원과 인근 지역의 상급관리들로 구성되었으며, 행궁에서 열리는 제사나 큰 행사의 준비를 담당하였다. 평상시에는 화성의 유수가 매달 초하루와 보름에 우화관에서 도성의 임금을 향해 절을 올리는 의례를 주관하였다. 1789년 우화관과 함께 지어졌다.
