전북대학교 구 본관 건물은 대학교의 상징적인 건물로 1955년에 건축하였다. 전북대학교 개교 초창기에 본관이었으나 지금은 혁신교육개발원 건물로 사용하고 있다.
건축은 전면 현관부를 돌출하여 포치*를 형성하고 여기에 본관을 연결하였다. 실내는 중앙 홀과 계단을 중심으로 복도와 실을 좌우 대칭으로 구성하였다. 이 건물은 기둥과 벽체를 돌과 콘크리트로 마감하면서 외관과 장식을 단순화, 간략화한 모더니즘**양식을 보여주고 있다.

This two-story rectangular building was constructed in 1955 as the main building of Jeonbuk National University and has long served as a symbol of the university. It is currently used as the Institute for Education Innovation.
