해설문

국문

산성은 산 위에 쌓은 성을 뜻하며, 기본적으로 적의 침략에 대비하는 방어 기능을 한다. 오랜 시간 성을 방어할 경우 물 확보가 매우 중요한데, 고락산성에서 모두 다섯 군데의 우물터가 발견되었다. 낮은 봉우리에 위치한 이 우물은 돌을 쌓아 만들었으며, 바닥과 돌벽 바깥에 점토를 채워 물이 한번 들어오면 쉽게 빠져나가지 못하도록 하였다.

성 안에서 우물터 외에 건물터 14곳과 집터 10곳, 토기로 만든 동물 모양의 남자 소변기, 말을 탈 때 썼던 철제기구 등도 발견되었다.

Well Site

A total of five well sites were discovered in Goraksanseong Fortress: one in the main fortress and four in the auxiliary defense facility. Procuring water from within the fortress was very important in the case of a long confrontation with the enemy.

This well in the main fortress is made of stacked stones. The floor and the outside of the walls were filled with clay to prevent water from seeping out.

Other features and artifacts were discovered within the fortress, such as 14 building sites, 10 dwelling sites, an animal-shaped urinal for men made of earthenware, and iron horse-riding accessories.

영문 해설 내용

고락산성은 본성에서 1곳, 부속성에서 4곳 총 5곳의 우물터가 발견되었다. 산성에서는 오랜 시간 적과 대치할 경우, 물을 확보하는 것이 매우 중요하다.

본성에 위치한 이 우물은 돌을 쌓아 벽을 만들었다. 바닥과 벽 바깥에 점토를 채워 물이 쉽게 빠져나가지 못하도록 하였다.
