해설문

국문

말산재사는 가립 권심행(可立 權審行, 1517~1579)의 묘소를 수호하고 제사를 준비하기 위해 지은 건물이다. 재사는 안동시 북후면 두산리(양리마을)에 위치해 있으며 재사 맞은편 말산에 권심행의 묘가 있다.

말산재사를 처음 지은 시기가 언제인지는 알 수 없다. 영조 33년(1757) 장마로 건물이 붕괴되어 이듬해 다시 지었다는 기록이 남아 있으며, 현재의 건물은 이때 지은 것으로 추정된다.

재사는 ‘ㅡ’자형 몸채와 ‘ㄷ’자형 대문채로 구성되어 있으며, 위에서 보면 ‘ㅁ’자형을 이루고 있다. 몸채는 높은 축대 위에 지었고, 대청을 중심으로 양옆에 온돌방을 두었다. 대청 뒤쪽에 미닫이창을 두었는데, 이는 흔하지 않은 수법이다. 몸채 앞 왼쪽 건물에는 부엌과 방이 있고, 오른쪽 건물은 2층으로 된 누각이 있다. 누각의 창문을 통해 권심행의 묘를 바라볼 수 있으며, 누각 아래에는 바깥마당으로 통하는 중문과 창고, 곳간, 온돌방을 두었다.

Malsanjaesa Ritual House of the Andong Gwon Clan

Malsanjaesa Ritual House was established for the maintenance of the tomb and the preparation of ancestral rituals for Gwon Sim-haeng (1517-1579) of the Andong Gwon Clan. Gwon Sim-haeng’s tomb is located across from the ritual house on Malsan Mountain.

It is unknown when the ritual house was first built. It is said to have been collapsed due to monsoon rains in 1757 and was rebuilt the following year.

The ritual house consists of a main gate quarters and a main quarters that together form a square shape with a courtyard in the middle. The main quarters stands atop a tall stone foundation and consists of a wooden-floored hall in the center with an underfloor-heated room to each side. Sliding windows are installed at the back of the wooden-floored hall, which is an unusual feature. On the left side of the gate quarters is a kitchen and underfloor-heated room, and on the right is an elevated wooden-floored pavilion from which Gwon Sim-haeng’s tomb can be seen. Below the pavilion is an inner gate, two storage rooms, and an underfloor-heated room.
