해설문

국문

아산재는 유생들과 함께 흥선대원군에게 돌아올 것을 상소한 이상철을 추모하고자 세운 재실이다. 원래 마을 서쪽 산두산 중턱에 있었으나 1970년대에 산두산이 국방부 부지로 편입됨에 따라 지금의 자리로 옮겼다.

가옥은 재실과 고직사* 2동으로 구성되어 있다. 재실은 정면 4칸, 측면 1.5칸 규모로, 정면에서 보면 중앙의 2칸 마루를 중심으로 좌우에 각각 1칸의 온돌방을 배치하고 그 앞에 툇간을 두었다. 고직사는 정면 4칸, 측면 1칸 규모이며 동쪽으로부터 방, 마루, 방, 부엌 순으로 공간이 배치되어 있다.

Asanjae Ritual House

Asanjae Ritual House was established in 1931 to commemorate Yi Sang-cheol (1826-1886, pen name: Asan), a scholar of the Joseon period (1392-1910). Originally, located on the hillside of Sandusan Mountain to the west of Maewon Village, the building was moved to its current location in 1971. Today, it is used as a private residence and has been partially modified to accommodate modern conveniences.

The house consists of two buildings, which originally served as the main quarters and the custodians’ quarters of the ritual house. The main quarters, in the back, consists of a wooden-floored room in the center, an underfloor-heated room to each side, and a narrow wooden veranda along the front. The custodians’ quarters, in the front, consists of a wooden-floored room in the center, an underfloor an underfloor-heated room to each side, and a kitchen on the far left.

영문 해설 내용

아산재는 조선시대의 학자 이상철(1826-1886, 호: 아산)을 추모하기 위한 재실로 1931년에 세워졌다. 원래 매원마을 서쪽 산두산 중턱에 있었으나, 1971년 지금의 자리로 옮겼다. 지금은 주택으로 사용되고 있으며 생활편의를 위해 일부 개조되었다.

이 집은 재실로 쓰이던 본채와 고직사로 쓰이던 건물로 이루어져 있다. 뒤쪽에 있는 본채는 마루를 중심으로 좌우에 온돌방을 배치하고 그 앞에 툇간을 두었다. 앞에 있는 고직사는 마루를 중심으로 양옆에 온돌방을 두고 왼쪽 끝에는 부엌을 두었다.
