현 강남구 삼성동 수도산에 자리한 한성 도읍기 백제의 토성 터로, 탄천과 한강이 만나는 요충지에 위치하여 왕성을 방어하는 군사 요새 역할을 하였다. 이 지역이 개발되면서 옛 성터는 사라졌지만, 성벽으로 보이는 일부 유적이 발견되어 토성이 있었음을 알 수 있다.

Site of the Earthen Fortification in Samseong-dong

The earthen fortification in Samseong-dong was located on Sudosan Mountain at the strategic point where the Tancheon Stream meets the Hangang River. Although its exact construction date is unknown, remains discovered in the area and artifacts linked to Baekje suggest that it served as a defensive outpost near the kingdom’s capital region. The royal capital of Baekje was situated in Hanseong, present-day Seoul, from 18 BCE to 475 CE. The original structure has disappeared due to urban development, but remains believed to be parts of the fortification have been found.

영문 해설 내용

수도산에 자리했던 삼성동토성은 탄천과 한강이 만나는 요충지에 위치하고 있었다. 축조 시기는 정확히 알려져 있지 않지만, 이 일대에서 발견된 토성 유구와 백제 관련 유물들을 통해 백제 왕도 주변을 방어하는 요새로 기능했음을 알 수 있다. 백제의 왕도는 18 BCE부터 475 CE까지 한성, 즉 오늘날의 서울에 자리하고 있었다. 원래의 토성 구조는 도시 개발로 소실되었으나, 성곽의 일부로 보이는 흔적들이 확인되었다.
