사과창고는 전형적인 과수농가의 과물 저장 방식을 따르는 건물로, 불이 번지는 것을 막기 위해 두껍게 쌓은 화방벽(방화벽)으로 둘러싸인 장방형 평면을 이루고 있다. 규모는 가로 약 9.56m, 세로 약 6.32m이며, 사랑채 쪽으로 철문을 설치하고 반대편 벽에는 쇠창살을 갖춘 환기창 2개를 두었다. 바닥은 지면보다 낮은 콘크리트 구조로 조성되어 저장 환경을 고려한 구성을 보인다.

이 건물은 근대기 과수 농가의 생산과 저장 방식, 그리고 화재 예방을 위한 건축적 특징을 잘 보여주는 부속시설이다.

Apple Storage Building

The apple storage building of this house measures 9.56 m in width and 6.32 m in depth. Constructed of concrete with its floor set below the surrounding ground level, it follows a typical fruit storage method used by orchard farming households. The structure is enclosed by thick fire-resistant walls. A metal door is installed on the side facing the men’s quarters, while two ventilation windows fitted with iron bars are placed on the opposite wall. This building clearly demonstrates the production and storage practices of 20th-century orchard farms, as well as architectural features designed for fire prevention.
