This collection of 150 documentary heritage items related to the Juksan An clan has been preserved at Eunbong Head House and Daegyeseowon Confucian Academy in Usan-ri Village. Eunbong Head House has been the ancestral home of the descendants of An Bang-jun (1573-1654, pen name: Eunbong), a scholar from the Joseon period (1392-1910), while Daegyeseowon Confucian Academy was established in 1657 to honor his scholarship and virtuous conduct. An Bang-jun was a representative Confucian scholar of the Honam region who raised a civilian army and demonstrated unwavering loyalty during national crises, including the Japanese invasions of 1592-1598 and the Manchu invasions of 1627 and 1637.
