해설문

국문

배식단은 단종에게 충절을 바친 신하들을 기리기 위하여 설치한 제단이다. 정단과 별단으로 구분하였으며, 별단은 공로와 신분에 따라 셋으로 나누었다. 단종이 복위된 뒤 정조 15년(1791)에 처음으로 정단의 제위 32인과 별단의 제위 198인을 지정하였다. 이 배식자의 수는 순조가 왕위에 있던 시기에 추가되어 268위가 되었다. 제사는 한식 때 지내며, 그 축문은 정조가 직접 지은 것이다.

Altar

This altar was established in 1791 to honor the loyal subjects of King Danjong (1441-1457, r. 1452-1455).

The altar consists of a main altar and an auxiliary altar. The main altar honored 32 people, while the auxiliary altar honored 198 people, for a total of 230 people. The auxiliary altar was further arranged into three sections based on the merit and social status of the individuals. However, more names were added to the altar in the early 19th century, for a current total of 268 people.

A veneration ritual takes place at the altar each year on the fifth day of the fourth lunar month.

영문 해설 내용

배식단은 단종(1441-1457, 재위 1452-1455)의 충신들에게 제사를 지내기 위한 제단으로 1791년에 조성되었다.

배식단은 정단과 별단으로 이루어져 있다. 정단은 32인, 별단은 198인으로 총 230인이 배향되었고, 별단은 공로와 신분에 따라 셋으로 나누었다. 19세기 초에 배향 인물이 추가되어 현재 총 268인이 되었다.

제사는 매년 4월 5일에 지낸다.
