수원읍의 활쏘기 정자로서 1789년(정조 13)에 지었다. 이듬해에 정조는 여기서 활을 쏘아 명중시키자 득중으로 이름하고 직접 글씨를 쓴 현판을 걸었다. 낙남헌 자리에 있다가 1794년(정조 18) 행궁을 증축하며 지금 위치로 옮겼다. 임금이 활을 쏘는 어사대를 특별히 마련했다. 정조는 수원에 올 때면 활쏘기를 벌였는데, 1795년(정조 19) 신하들과 활을 쏘고 불꽃놀이를 즐긴 모습을 그린 <득중정어사도>가 전한다.

국문 수정

득중정은 활을 쏘는 정자로서 정조 13년(1789)에 지었다. 본래 낙남헌 터에 있었는데, 정조가 글씨를 쓴 현판이 걸려 있었다. 1794년에 행궁을 증축하며 건물을 지금의 위치로 옮기고, 임금이 활을 쏘는 어사대를 특별히 마련했다. 정조는 수원에 올 때면 득중정에서 활을 쏘았는데, 1795년 혜경궁 회갑연때 신하들과 활을 쏘고 불꽃놀이를 즐긴 모습이 그림으로 남아 있다.

Deukjungjeong Hall

Deukjungjeong is a hall for enjoying archery. Every time King Jeongjo visited the temporary palace, he engaged in archery at this hall. The name “Deukjungjeong (得中亭),” chosen by King Jeongjo, means “hall of hitting the target,” to commemorate the king's successful shootings. It was first constructed in 1790, however when this temporary palace was expanded in 1794, Deukjungjeon was moved to its current location behind Nangnamheon Hall. In front of the building is the king’s shooting platform.

Deukjungjeong is a hall for enjoying archery. It was first constructed in 1790 and was moved to its current location in 1794. The name “Deukjungjeong (得中亭),” chosen by King Jeongjo, comes from a passage in the Book of Rites which states "He who hit the mark was permitted to be a prince.” Whenever King Jeongjo visited the temporary palace, he engaged in archery at the shooting platform in front of this hall.

영문 해설 내용

득중정은 왕이 활쏘기를 하기 위해 세운 건물이다. 정조는 행궁에 행차할 때마다 매번 활쏘기를 하였는데, 1790년 새로 세운 이 건물에서 활을 쏘아 4발 모두를 적중시킨 것을 기념하여 ‘득중정’이라는 이름을 붙였다. 1794년 행궁을 증축하면서, 득중정을 낙남헌 뒤쪽으로 옮겨지었다. 건물 계단 앞에는 임금이 활을 쏘는 어사대를 마련했다.
