고직사는 도산서원을 관리하고 식사를 준비하던 사람들이 거처하던 곳이다. 전교당과 도산서당 왼쪽에 각각 상고직사와 하고직사가 있다.

상고직사는 도산서원 영역의 관리인들이 거처하던 곳이고, 하고직사는 도산서당의 관리인들이 거처하던 곳이다. 상고직사는 뒤편의 전사청과 앞쪽의 하고직사와 바로 연결되어 관리인들이 편하게 사용하도록 하였다.

Custodians’ Living Quarters

This academy has two living quarters for the custodians who managed the buildings in the complex and prepared food. The living quarters next to Jeongyodang Lecture Hall was for the custodians in charge of the Confucian academy section, and the one next to Dosanseodang Village Study Hall was for the custodians of the village study hall, dormitories, and other auxiliary buildings.
