Gwangju Art Street: A Hub of Creativity

Narrative

Arts Street serves as Gwangju's primary cultural corridor, located along Jebong-ro and connecting various artistic institutions and events. This vibrant district hosts major cultural festivals including the Gwangju Biennale and Gwangju Fringe Festival, establishing itself as a central venue for both international and experimental art.

The street houses several key cultural institutions. The Gwangju Student Arts Center and Miro Center provide spaces for artistic education and creative activities. Connected to the nearby National Asian Culture Center by bus route 419, Arts Street forms part of a larger cultural network that includes the center and Jeonil Building 245.

The Antique Flea Market regularly takes place on the street, while the Biennale Course connects Arts Street with the National Asian Culture Center through a walking route highlighting contemporary and public art. Located near Jungang Market, Arts Street maintains its identity as a dedicated space for creativity and cultural expression.
