In 1980, Gwangju, South Korea, witnessed the May 18 Democratic Uprising, a key pro-democracy movement against Chun Doo-hwan's military regime. The Gwangju People's Uprising Mural captures this historic struggle. Created by the Mural Promotion Committee, it is displayed at Chonnam National University College of Education Building. This artwork, rooted in Minjung Art, serves as a lasting reminder of the fight for democracy.
