Narrative
Rich in natural resources, Mudeungsan Mountain is home to a steel production site used during the Japanese invasion of 1592-1598 by the civilian army leader Kim Deok-ryeong (1567-1596) to produce steel weapons. The site, located in the Geumgok-dong Neighborhood, is designated as a Gwangju Monument. It is located along the Mudeungsan Righteous Army Road, which commemorates the civilian armies who fought in the Honam region during the Japanese invasions.
