The Chonnam National University Medical Museum is housed in the Former Main Building of the School of Medicine at Chonnam National University, completed in 1951. As the oldest building on campus, it is a symbolic structure that laid the foundation for medical education in the Gwangju region. Today, it serves as an exhibition hall that illustrates the history of medical education and research. Since its opening in 2012, the museum has showcased around 3,000 artifacts, providing an overview of the development of modern medical education in Korea. In the same building is the Chonnam National University Nursing History Museum, which presents the history of nursing education and practice. Through various documents, medical instruments, and uniforms, the museum vividly highlights the dedication of nurses and the evolution of nursing education in Korea.
The Chosun University Museum of Dentistry is located within the university’s School of Dentistry, which was established in 1973 as the first dental school in the Honam region. This specialized museum presents a detailed overview of the history and advancement of dental science. It brings together valuable dental artifacts preserved by the university and provides a multidimensional look at the evolution of dental research, clinical technology, and the growth of dentistry in the Honam region.
