1. Program (Korea-related degree offered) : KOREAN LANGUAGE
   • Program Remarks - The Korean Program at The University of Texas at Arlington is dedicated to the study of the language, literature, culture, and business environments of Korea. Students have the opportunity to progress toward oral and written linguistic competence in Korean and to study Korean communication within its cultural context. Courses are designed to increase self-expression, cross-cultural understanding, and develop the technical skills necessary to function in an internationalized economic, political, and web-based world.
   1. Korea-related Courses : KORE 1441 • Beginning Korean I
      • Course Remarks - Multimedia immersion in the culture and language of Korea. Designed to enable students to understand and communicate effectively in Korean at the beginning level.
   2. Korea-related Courses : KORE 1442 • Beginning Korean II
      • Course Remarks - Continuation of beginning Korean. Multimedia immersion in the culture and language of Korea. Designed to enable students to understand and communicate effectively in Korean at the beginning level.
   3. Korea-related Courses : KORE 2313 • Intermediate Korean I
      • Course Remarks - Continued immersion in the culture and language of Korea. Application of strategies and technology in mastering listening, speaking, reading, and writing at the intermediate level.
   4. Korea-related Courses : KORE 3303 • Korean Conversation and Culture I
      • Course Remarks - Practice in oral expression with an emphasis on vocabulary building, listening comprehension, and speaking skills. Of special interest to students who wish to improve their skills in pronunciation, comprehension, and oral expression. Credit will not be granted to native speakers of Korean. Heritage speakers of Korean may register for the course with permission of the instructor.
   5. Korea-related Courses : KORE 3310 • Korean Localization And Translation I
      • Course Remarks - Introduction to cultural and linguistic issues in the translation of Korean language texts. Students will explore current technologies used in various real-world translation contexts and how to adapt texts, products, and services to the locale for which they are intended.
   6. Korea-related Courses : KORE 3345 • Introduction to Computer-Assisted Translation
      • Course Remarks - Introduction to computer-assisted translation (CAT), machine translation (MT), translation memory (TM) and terminology management tools in modern translation and localization workflows. Prepares students for real-world careers in the language services industry. For students enrolled in Localization and Translation/Interpreting programs only.
   7. Korea-related Courses : KORE 2314 • Intermediate Korean II
      • Course Remarks - Continuation of Intermediate Korean I.
   8. Korea-related Courses : KORE 3304 • Korean Conversation and Culture II
      • Course Remarks - Continuation of Korean Conversation I. Students develop conversational skills through the use of readings, film, and other media. Extensive conversation practice allows students to develop upper-intermediate level oral skills. They learn to express abstract ideas through description, comparison, and narration. Credit will not be granted to native speakers of Korean. Heritage speakers of Korean may register for the course with permission of the instructor.
   9. Korea-related Courses : KORE 3311 • Korean Localization & Translation II
      • Course Remarks - Continued study of cultural and linguistic issues in the translation of Korean and English language texts. Systematic development of advanced skills in localization and computer-aided translation and in using TMX/TBX (international standards for translation memory and terminology exchange) tools. Translation practice, individually and in translation teams, with increasingly longer and more specialized texts. Prepares localization and translation specialists for real-world careers in the language-services industry. May be repeated once.
