  • Discussion Questions:

[*] The second two lines are taken from Chǒng Ch'ǒl's (1536-1593) poem Ch'uiljak (추일작; 秋日作) - Beginning of Autumn Days. The full poem goes as follows:

山雨夜鳴竹 산우야명죽

草虫秋近床 초충추근상

流年那可駐 유년나가주

白髮不禁長 백발불금장[1]

(YO) Good! One question: Does the title of Chŏng Chŏl's poem (秋日作) mean "Beginning of Autumn Days" or "Composed on an Autumn Day"?
