釋恵通氏族未詳, 白衣之時家在南山西麓銀川洞之口. 一日逰舎東溪上, 捕一獺屠之弃骨園中. 詰旦亡其骨跡血尋之, 骨還舊穴抱五兒而蹲. 郎望見驚異久之. 感嘆蹰躇便弃俗出家易名恵通. 《三國遺事》
