【1865년~1935년】프랑스의 언어학자이자 동양학자로 1890년 주한 프랑스 공사관의 통역관으로 임명되어 몇년 간 한국에 관한 도서를 조사하고 수집한 후 돌아가 『조선서지학_서론(朝鮮書誌學 序論)』을 출간하였다.
