덕수궁 탕전

Definition

덕수궁 탕전(湯殿)은 그 명칭으로 미루어 목욕을 하기 위한 목욕탕 건물이었을 것으로 생각된다. 바닥 재료로 미루어 마루방에 욕조가 시설되고 다다미방은 탈의실 등으로 사용되었을 것으로 보인다.

즉조당 뒤 덕경당 주위에 있었던 것으로 기록되어 있는데, 덕경당 옆인지 앞인지 분명하지 않다.
