공릉-恭陵

Definition
조선 제8대 국왕 예종의 원비 장순왕후를 단릉형식으로 모신 왕비릉이다. 경기도 파주시 조리읍 봉일천리에 위치한 파주 삼릉(공릉(恭陵)·순릉(順陵)·영릉(永陵)) 하나로, 1970년 5월 26일 사적 제 205호로 지정되었다. 왕세자빈의 신분에서 세상을 떠났기 때문에 묘제의 형식에 맞게 조성하였다. 봉분에는 병풍석과 난간석이 없고, 망주석 또한 생략되었다. 커다란 봉분을 석양(石羊)과 석호(石虎)가 좌우에서 호위하고 있으며, 혼유석·장명등·문인석·석마(石馬) 등의 석물이 배치되어 있다. 봉분 바깥쪽으로는 곡장(曲墻; 나지막하게 두룬 담장)이 설치되어 있다. 능 아래쪽의 홍살문에서 정자각에 이르는 길을 참도(參道)라 하여 보통 직선으로 만드는데, 공릉-恭陵만이 지형조건상 'ㄱ'자로 꺾여 있다.
