경복궁 강녕전

Definition

왕의 침전이다. 근정전 북쪽에 있다. 경복궁 창건 당시인 1395(태조 4)년에 처음 지었다. 1433(세종 15)년에 고쳐 지었고, 1553(명종 8)년에 불탄 것을 재건했으나, 1592년 임진왜란 때 전화(戰禍)로 전부 타버렸다. 1867(고종 4)년 경복궁 중건 때 다시 지었다. 일제 때 화재로 없어진 창덕궁의 희정당(熙政堂)을 재건하기 위해 1918년에 헐었으며, 1995년에 복원하였다.
