영조척

Definition

성벽이나 궁궐 등을 건축할 때 주로 사용한 자로, 곡척(曲尺)·대척(大尺)·금척(金尺) 등으로도 불렸다. 주로 목수들이 사용하였으며, 가옥과 성벽, 봉화(烽火), 사직단(社稷壇), 산릉(山陵)·능실(陵室) 등의 축조와 형구(刑具) 제작, 되(升)와 말(斗) 등의 양기(量器)를 만들 때 표준척으로 사용되었다.
