서십자각

Definition

서십자각은 경복궁 서쪽에 있던 망루이다. 원래 궁궐의 궁은 임금의 거처를 말하고, 궐은 출입문 좌우에 설치된 망루를 뜻한다. 1923년 10월 5일에 열리기로 예정된 조선부업품공진회(朝鮮副業品共進會)의 개회에 맞추어 전차개통을 위해 부설 공사를 하면서 철거되었다.
