사직서

Definition

사직서(社稷署)는 조선시대 동반 경관직 종5품 아문 관서로 사직의 단(壇)과 유(壝)를 청소하는 일을 담당하였다. 소속 관직은 령(令), 직장(直長), 참봉(參奉) 등이다. 관사의 위치가 『동국여지승람』의 기록에는 사직단(社稷壇) 밖 북쪽에 있다고 하고, 『전선지(全鮮誌)』(순종연간 편찬)에는 사직동에 있다(在社稷洞)고 기록되어 있다.
