현금

Definition

현금(玄琴)은 장방형의 공명통 위에 명주실을 꼬아 만든 6현을 걸고 오른손에 쥔 술대로 줄을 쳐서 연주하는 현악기이다. 거문고라고 한다. 가야금에 비해 줄이 굵어 음색이 어둡고 음역이 낮다. 전정헌가(殿庭軒架) 악대에 편성되는 악기이다.
