필율

Definition

필율(觱篥)은 오래된 황죽(黃竹)으로 만든 관대(管帶)에 해죽(海竹)의 껍질을 벗겨 얇게 깎은 겹서를 꽂아 세로로 부는 관악기이다. 필율은 한자어이고, 순우리말로는 피리이다. 피리는 향피리, 당피리, 세피리의 세 종류가 있다. 당피리의 관이 가장 굵어 큰 소리를 낼 수 있다. 전정헌가(殿庭軒架) 악대에 편성되는 악기이다.
