기와

Definition

목조건물에서 지붕을 덮기 위하여 점토를 틀에 넣어 일정한 모양으로 가마에서 구워 만든 건축재료이다. 눈과 빗물의 침수와 이로 인한 목재의 부패를 방지하고, 건물의 외관을 장식하는 기능을 갖는다.
