기별청

Definition

홍례문 안 서쪽 행각에 있다. 기별청은 원래 왕명을 출납하는 기관인 승정원(承政院)에서 반포하는 ‘기별(奇別)’을 작성하던 곳이다. 기별청이 이 곳에 해는 명확하지 않다. 1892(고종 29)년에 최초의 기록이 나오는 것으로 보아, 경복궁을 중건한 이후에 설치되었다고 보아야 할 것 같다.
