The Gaeseong merchant of the Goryeo Dynasty traded with different foreign countries through Byrulando. It is also called 'Yeongseong Port' and government officers were hosted in the Byeongnanjeong.

Management of the Gaeseong merchant in Goryeo Dynasty
During the Goryeo Dynasty, Gaeseong merchants succeed to make not only public trade but also private trade with foreign merchants through Yeseonggang port in Byrullando. Especially, the Koryoin people traded the most specialized ginseng. Ginseng has historically grown on the Korean Peninsula since the Three Kingdoms Period.As Goryeo unified its post-Samsung nation, ginseng produced on the Korean Peninsula became a common term.Gaeseong has become famous as it has continued to exist since the mid Goryeo Period as a major plantation of the Goryeo ginseng. In particular, Gaeseong of the Goryeo Dynasty developed into an international trade port, ginseng began to spread abroad.

Advantage of Location
Byeokran-do is the entrance to Gaegyeong, the capital of Goryeo.
It is also easy to trade and is connected to the sea route because it is located at the mouth of Yeseonggang River. The depth of the water allowed even a large ship to come and go.
