해설문
국문
삼소재는 선안동(先安東) 일명 상락김씨 중시조*인 김방경(金方慶)의 17대손 김용추(金用秋)의 종택으로, 현종 15년(1674)에 지었다. 삼소재란 이름은 용추의 5대손인 통정대부 삼소재 김종락(金宗洛)의 호 ‘삼소’를 딴 것이다. 삼소는 ‘소산(素山)에 살며 깨끗한 행실을 하고 검소한 음식을 먹는다.’는 뜻이다. 김종락은 자신의 호와 같이 소산마을에 초가 몇 간을 지어 ‘지곡서당(芝谷書堂)’이란 현판을 달고 거처하였다.
삼소재는 비스듬하게 생긴 땅 위에 정면 6칸, 옆면 5칸으로 지었으며 동쪽을 향해 있다. 안채와 사랑채를 중문간으로 연결하였다. 안대청의 건넌방 앞에 뒤주를 둔 것과 중문 옆 외양간 위에 다락을 만든 점이 독특하다.

이 집은 조선시대의 인물인 김용추(1651-1711) 가문의 종택이다. 종택이란 한 집안의 종가가 대대로 사는 집이다. 이 집이 위치한 소산리는 고려시대의 무신인 김방경(1212-1300)의 후손들이 세거하는 안동김씨 집성촌이다.
이 집은 1674년에 지어진 것으로 전해진다. 김용추는 원래 초가에 살고 있었는데, 당시 예천군수를 지내던 처남 이고(1649-1708)가 누님 내외를 위해 새 집을 지어줬다고 한다.
문간채, 사랑채, 안채로 구성되어 있으며, 안마당을 사이에 두고 ㅁ자형을 이루고 있다. 안채 오른편에는 사당이 있다.
이 집의 이름인 ‘소산(素山)’은 김용추의 5대손인 김종락(1796-1875)의 호에서 따온 것이다. ‘소산’은 소산리에 살며, 자신의 본분에 맞는 행실을 하고, 검소한 음식을 먹는다는 의미를 담고 있다.
