===국문===
신도비(神道碑)는 조선시대 2품 이상의 관직을 지낸 사람의 무덤 앞에 그 생애와 업적을 기리기 위해 세운 비석이다. 이 비석은 조선 후기 문신 권상유(權尙遊, 1656~1724)의 공적을 적고 있다. 권상유는 본관이 안동(安東)으로, 한수재(寒水齋) 권상하(權尙夏)의 동생이며, 송시열의 문하에서 수학하였다. 1694년 문과에 급제한 이후 수원부사·대사간·전라관찰사·개성유수·도승지 등 내외 관직을 두루 거치며 명망을 쌓았고, 1715년 형조판서, 이후 이조판서에 올라 숨은 인재를 많이 등용하였다. 그러나 1721년 신임사화 때 탄핵되어 고향으로 돌아가 여생을 마쳤다. 1741년(영조 17) 신원이 회복되고 시호를 ‘정헌’이라 내렸다.

신도비의 기록에 따르면 처음에는 충북 청풍의 선산에 장례하였으나, 차남 권혁(權爀)이 현재의 위치로 이장하면서 신도비도 함께 세웠다. 비석은 1741년(영조 17)에 건립되었으며, 비문은 영의정 이의현(李宜顯)이 짓고 영의정 유척기(兪拓基)가 전액(篆額)을 하였으며, 민우수(閔遇洙)가 글씨를 썼다.

금산 배천조씨 종택은 임진왜란 당시 의병을 일으켜 싸우다 순국한 의병장 중봉 조헌 선생의 사당을 유지·관리하기 위해 1937년 건립한 배천조씨 종손 가옥이다.

이 종택은 전통 한옥 구조를 기본으로 일본식 건축 요소를 혼합한 절충식 근대주택으로 건립 당시 일제강점기의 시대상을 반영한다. 전체적으로 민도리식 한옥 구조를 따르면서도 내부에는 지붕가구(코야구미), 벽감(도코노마) 등 일본식 건축 양식을 접목하고 있어 당시 주거 건축의 혼합 양상을 잘 보여준다.

금산 배천조씨 종택의 평면은 현관을 진입하여 가로와 세로 방향으로 편복도를 두어 각 방을 복도를 통해 이동하는 방식으로 일본의 주거형식에서 볼 수 있는 접객문화와 가족 중심의 주거생활이 중첩된 주거 건축 양식으로 볼 수 있다.

또한 건물 외부 미닫이문과 미서기창 등 창호 대부분을 당시 신소재에 속했던 유리로 마감한 것이 특징이며, 내부는 명장지를 사용하였다. 지붕 구조는 다락에서 확인이 가능하며 2고주 5량가의 형태로 확인된다.

금산군은 이러한 건축적·역사적 가치를 지닌 금산 배천조씨 종택을 2025년 5월 30일 충청남도 등록문화유산으로 지정하여 보호·관리하고 있다.

문헌서원은 고려의 대학자 가정(稼亭) 이곡(李穀, 1298〜1351)과 그의 아들이자 조선 성리학의 중요한 기반을 마련한 목은(牧隱) 이색(李穡, 1328〜1396)의 학문과 덕행을 기리기 위해 세워진 곳이다. 가정·목은 부자와 함께 이종덕(李種德), 이종선(李種善), 이종학(李種學), 이맹균(李孟畇), 이개(李塏), 이자(李秄) 등 총 8인의 한산이씨 배향 인물이 모셔져 있다.

문헌서원은 이색의 묘역 아래 1575년 건립한 효정사(孝靖祠)에 연원을 두고 있다. 당시 한산군수(韓山郡守) 파곡(波谷) 이성중(李誠中, 1539〜1593)이 편액을 써서 걸었다. 1597년 정유재란으로 효정사가 소실된 후, 많은 선비들과 후손 죽천(竹泉) 이덕형(李德泂), 이경탁(李慶倬), 남강(南江) 이임(李稔) 등의 협력으로 광해 2년(1610) 이색의 옛 집터인 한산면 고촌리에 옮겨 세웠다. 광해 3년(1611) 이종학과 이자를 추가 배향하고, ‘문헌(文獻)’으로 사액을 받았다. 그 후 1713년 유생들의 상소로 사육신 백옥헌 이개의 관작이 회복되고 추가 배향되었다.

1871년 대원군의 서원철폐령에 의해 훼철된 후, 1891년 옛 서원 터에 단(壇)을 설치해 배향되었다가 1969년 효정사가 있었던 지금의 위치에 다시 건립되었다. 그 후 이종덕, 이종선, 이맹균을 추가 배향하여 총 8인을 매년 음력 3월과 9월에 제향하고 있다.

문헌서원은 배향인물 제향공간 효정사(孝靖祠), 강학공간 진수당(進修堂), 동재 존양재(存養齋), 서재 석척재(夕惕齋), 이색 영정을 모신 목은선생영당(牧隱先生影堂), 문집 판목 보관 장소인 장판각(藏板閣), 제기고(祭器庫), 한산이씨 제향공간 영모재(永慕齋), 교육관(敎育館)으로 구성되어 있으며, 영당 앞에는 이색(李穡) 신도비(神道碑)가 자리하고 있다.

1984년 충청남도 문화유산자료로 지정되었다. 2007〜2013년 문헌서원 일대가 정비되었고 2025년 문헌서원 사색원 조성사업으로 교육관과 전시관이 증축되었다.

서천 청덕사(淸德祠)는 조선 전기 문신 백결재(白潔齋) 구종직(丘從直, 1404〜1477)의 영정과 위패를 모신 사당이다. 1910년에 먼저 지어진 경현재(景賢齋)를 묘막으로 사용하다가 서천 유림, 연산 돈암서원, 보령 집성당 등 인근 유림의 지원으로 1918년 사당이 건립되었다.

구종직(丘從直)의 본관은 평해(平海)로, 부친 구양선(丘揚善)과 모친 창원공씨(昌原孔氏) 사이 둘째로 태어났다. 세종 26년(1444) 문과에 급제한 뒤 헌납을 역임하고, 그 후 계유정난(癸酉靖難, 1543년) 때 수양대군을 도와 원종공신(原從功臣) 3등에 녹훈되었고, 낙안군수(樂安郡守)와 고성군수(高城郡守)를 역임하였으며, 공조판서를 거쳐 좌찬성에 이르렀다. 역리강론(易理講論)으로 세조의 인정을 받아 첨지중추부사에 발탁되었고, 시호는 안장공(安長公)이다. 구종직의 후손인 구맹전(丘孟傳)이 중종 때 사화를 피하여 서천군 문산면 은곡리로 낙향하면서 평해구씨 집성촌을 이루었다.

청덕사는 사당인 청덕사, 내삼문, 외삼문 청덕문(淸德門), 강당 및 재실공간 경현재(景賢齋), 평해구씨 제향공간 영모재(永慕齋)로 구성되어 있으며 각 공간은 사괴석 담장으로 구분되었다. 사당은 익공계 맞배지붕으로 전면 3칸, 측면 2칸의 1고주 5량집이고, 경현재는 정면 6칸, 측면 2칸으로 팔작지붕이다. 건물 내부 상량문을 통해 사당은 1918년, 경현재는 1910년에 건립되었음을 알 수 있다. 경현재 앞에는 1919년 김영한(金寗漢)이 찬한 묘정비(廟庭碑)가 세워져 있다.

유교사 연구 및 역사적 가치로 인해 2010년 충청남도 문화유산자료로 지정되었으며, 서천군 문화유산 정비계획에 따라 2021년에 보수공사를 하였다.
