감자를 기름에 튀긴 요리.

대한민국에서는 감자튀김이라고 하면 맥도날드 같은 패스트푸드점에서 흔히 나오는 프렌치프라이를 말할 정도로 프렌치 프라이의 위상이 높으나, 미국, 유럽 등에서는 감자튀김을 좀 더 다양하게 많이 먹는다. 원재료인 감자의 가격이 싸기 때문에 아시아든 유럽이든 아프리카에서든간에 흔히 볼 수 있는 세계적인 길거리 음식이기도 하다.
