모친상과 국상이 겹친 유자광에게 모친상을 따르도록 하다

○傳于承政院曰: "柳子光居母服, 而請服君喪, 政丞等云 ‘可從其願’, 禮曹則以爲 ‘不可 聽’, 將何以處之? 更問于政丞等。" 尹弼商啓: "不可以此開端, 依禮曹所啓, 何如?"; 盧思愼啓: "若有事, 則雖在喪者, 當起復詣闕。 子光之請, 於義無妨。"; 愼承善啓: "依前議, 何如。" 傳曰: "爲先王之誠, 予實嘉之。 然國有成法, 不可聽, 其以是意諭子光。"

승정원에게 전교하기를, "유자광이 모친의 상복을 입고 있으면서 임금의 상복을 입겠다고 청하는데, 정승들은 그의 소원을 들어주자 하고, 예조는 굳이 들어줄 수 없다고 하니, 어떻게 처치할 것인지, 다시 정승들에게 물으라." 하매, 윤필상은 아뢰기를, "이 때문에 발단을 만들어서는 안되겠으니, 예조가 아뢴 대로 함이 어떠하오리까?" 하고, 노사신은 아뢰기를, "만약 국가에 일이 있을 때라면, 비록 상중에 있는 자라도 마땅히 기복(起復)하여 예궐(詣闕)하여야 할 것이니, 자광의 청은 의(義)에 무방합니다." 하고, 신승선은 아뢰기를, "먼저의 의논대로 함이 어떠하오리까?" 하니, 전교하기를, "선왕을 위한 정성은 내가 참으로 가상히 여기나, 국가에 정한 법이 있으므로 들어 줄 수 없으니, 이 뜻을 자광에게 이르라." 하였다.	The crown prince said to the Royal Secretariat: “Yu Jagwang is in mourning for his mother at the moment; however, he pleads to wear mourning attire for the late king. With regard to this matter, the chancellors are inclined to grant his wish, but the Ministry of Rites stridently opposes [his request]. Ask the chancellors again how this matter should be taken care of.” Yun Pilsang replied: "Lest this become a tradition, why not follow the Ministry of Rites’ position?" Noh Sasin replied: "In the case of a state emergency, officials in the middle of mourning will, nevertheless, have to return to their work at the palace. In this respect, [Yu] Jagwang's plea is not disturbing, but righteous." Shin Seungseon suggested: "Why not follow the previous decision?” The crown prince said: “I deeply appreciate his sincerity toward the late king. Since the dynasty has established rules, it is not possible to listen to him. Instruct him to follow [the Ministry of Rites].”
