시조왕릉

Definition

유교에 바탕을 둔 조선이 태조 이성계의 4대((부모, 조부모, 증조부모, 고조부모)를 왕으로 추숭하여 왕릉으로 조성한 8기의 무덤으로 정릉, 화릉, 의릉, 순릉, 지릉, 숙릉, 덕릉, 안릉을 말한다. 이 왕릉들은 모두 함경도의 함흥과 안변, 문주 등지에 있던 까닭에 통틀어서 ‘함길도 8릉’으로 불렀다.
