A Person Related to the Court Banquet in Celebration of King Gojong’s Fiftieth Birthday 》 Jeongjaeyeoryeong 呈才女伶 (female dancer)
Story
There are four main types of people involved in the banquet: royal figures who are the host of the event, guests who are the royal relatives and the officials and management and performers who prepare for the event.
At the banquet of the emperor, the crown prince, and officials, they gave a celebration to the emperor nine times and each celebration was held to have music and performances. This performance that combines music and dance is called "Jeongjae".
In men's banquets, male dancers perform Jeongjae, and in most other banquets, female dancers perform Jeongjae. The male dancer who performs Jeongjae is called "Mudong", and the female dancer is called "Jeongjaeyeoryeong".
In addition to the performance, they also took on roles such as guiding and setting the event, and after the event, they received large and small rewards for each role. Information on their role in the performance can be found in the Gongnyeong 工伶 (musicians and performers) part and the compensation part in the Sangjeon 賞典 (rewards) part in Gojong sinchuk jinyeon uigwe 高宗辛丑進宴儀軌 (Royal Protocols for the Court Banquet in Celebration of King Gojong’s Fiftieth Birthday) .
