소헌왕후

Definition

소헌왕후(昭憲王后,1395-1446) 본관은 청송(靑松). 아버지는 영의정 심온(沈溫), 어머니는 영돈녕부사 안천보(安天保)의 딸이다. 1408년(태종 8) 충녕군(忠寧君) 이도(李祹)와 가례(嘉禮)를 올려 빈(嬪)이 되고, 경숙옹주(敬淑翁主)에 봉해졌다. 1417년 삼한국대부인(三韓國大夫人)에 개봉(改封)되고, 이듬해 4월 충녕대군이 왕세자에 책봉되자 경빈(敬嬪)에 봉해졌으며, 같은 해 9월 세종이 즉위하자 왕후로 봉해져 공비(恭妃)가 되었다.

1432년(세종 14) 중궁에게 미칭(美稱)을 사용하는 것이 적절치 않다하여 왕비로 불리게 되었다. 심온이 병권을 태종이 갖고 있는 문제로 대역(大逆)에 관련되어 사사되자 폐비의 논의를 겪었다. 그러나 내조의 공이 인정되어 실행되지는 않았다. 1446년에 52세로 죽자 헌릉(獻陵)에 장사지냈다. 뒤에 세종의 능인 영릉(英陵)으로 이장하였다. 시호는 선인제성소헌왕후(宣仁齊聖昭憲王后)이고, 능호는 영릉으로 경기도 여주시 능서면 영릉로에 있다. 문종과 세조 등 8남과 2녀를 두었는데, 금평대군과 평원대군은 요절했다.
