용부문 현판

Definition

‘용부(用敷)’는 ‘백성들에게 오복을 펴서 줌’을 뜻한다. 『서경』 「홍범」편의 다음 문장에서 그 출처를 찾을 수 있다. “다섯 번째, 황극(皇極)은 임금이 극(極) 3)을 세우는 것이니, 이 다섯 가지 복을 거두어서 여러 백성들에게 복을 펼쳐 주면[用敷] 백성들이 그대가 세운 극을 따르고 보존하여 줄 것이다.”
