Definition

개항기를 전후로 시작되었던 일본인들의 조선이주는 일제의 통감부 정책이후 본격화되기 시작하였다.재조선일본인은 이 시기를 전후로 조선에서 거주하던 일본인을 가리키는 용어이다. 식민지 조선의 경제방면을 장악하였던 재조선일본인들은 일본거류민회를 조직해 총독부 정책에 적극적으로 관여하였다. 특히 조선에서의 박람회 개최 및 운영에 적극적으로 참여하였는데 대부분 상공업에 종사하였던 이들이 박람회 개최를 이익을 창출하는 기회로 인식했기 때문이다.
