의혜왕후

Definition

의혜왕후(懿惠王后, 미상)조선 환조(환조)의 부인. 아버지는 본래 선수천호 조조였으나 후에 최한기로 개명하였다. 본관은 영흥이다. 어려서부터 총명하여 남다른 데가 있었다. 혼인할 나이가 되어 부모가 김린(金麟)의 아들에게 시집보내고자 하였으나 듣지 않았다. 후에 환조 이차춘이 집에 들렀을 때 용 꿈을 꾸고 그에게 청혼하여 시집갔다. 이성계와 이천계 두 아들과 정화공주를 낳았다. 생존시에는 삼한국대부인에 봉하여졌고, 태조 즉위 후에는 의비(懿妃)로 봉하여졌다. 뒤에 태종이 의혜왕후로 추봉하고 능을 화릉(和陵)이라 하였다.
