경복궁영건일기

Definition

경복궁영건일기(景福宮營建日記)는 1865년(고종 2) 4월부터 1868년(고종 5) 7월까지 경복궁을 중건하는 과정에서 있었던 일을 시간 순서에 따라 기록한 책이다. 조선 고종대 경복궁 중건의 실상을 온전히 전해주는 유일한 사료이다. 이 책은 한성부 주부 원세철(元世澈)이 주관하여 공사 진행 일지와 경복궁 중건 관련 자료를 바탕으로 총9책으로 재정리한 초고본이다. 현재 와세다대학교에 소장되어 있다. 이 일기를 발췌한 자료로 일본 궁내청 소장본 『이태왕실록자료』 2책이 있다. 이본으로 규장각한국학연구원에 『경복궁영건일기』1책이 소장되어 있다.
