작품 속 수많은 캐릭터들도 각자 다른 자신들의 내일을 노래하는 넘버다. 자신의 실체를 들킬까봐 떠나야 하는 장발장, 사랑하는 사람을 만났지만 헤어져야 하는 코제트와 마리우스, 혁명의 전 들뜨고 긴장된 마음을 감출 수 없는 앙졸라 등 모두 다르지만 모두에게 똑같이 올 내일을 기다리며 이 노래를 부른다. 마찬가지로 웅장한 오케스트라와 하모니가 돋보이면서도 캐릭터 마다 솔로 파트가 있어 다양한 음악적 요소가 담긴 노래다.
