The reason why I applied for this camp is because I felt that the camp was special because I could study with my friends and translate it into English with the help of a native English teacher. So I wanted to actively exchange with my native English teacher and improve my English conversation skills through this camp. Also, I wanted to improve my ability to deliver information so that people could be interested in the areas I researched. The subjects I chose were celebrities and historical sites in Ganghwa. The reason why I chose this subject is because I am interested in history. Usually I thought history was a memorization subject and it wasn't very interesting. So by choosing this topic, I thought I could personally explore my interest in history and organize an interesting presentation. The reason why I chose this topic as a student in Ganghwado Island is because I felt that I lacked knowledge of the history of Ganghwado. All I know about this topic is Koryo writer Lee Gyu-bo who lived in Ganghwa during the first semester of the Goryeo Dynasty. I knew little of his detailed life story. However, while attending an international camp, I learned about Lee's life story and his masterpiece. He also learned about the purpose and nature of Jeongjoksanseong Fortress, General Eo Jae-yeon who defeated the Mongol army in Gwangseongbo, the structural features of Gwangseongbo, and various events that took place in Gwangseongbo. Finally, I learned about the simple process of fighting. This is what I learned about historical knowledge. From now on, I will write about what I learned outside of historical knowledge. First, I learned to blend in with my friends. At first, it was not easy to decide because there were a lot of comments when setting the details of the whole topic. So we gathered opinions and reached a conclusion, not just insisting on each other's opinions. I usually used a method of selecting one of the opinions to coordinate various opinions. So I felt that the process was new, and I realized that this method could create more colorful and interesting themes. Next, I learned the ability to solve an emergency without panic. In fact, our team members' thinking and the teacher's intended theme were in different directions, causing the contents of our group to overlap with other groups. When it was published the next day, it was impossible to change the way a new paper was written and published. We were so embarrassed at first that we didn't know what to do. However, we confirmed that there were changes, so we were able to safely complete the paper and finish the presentation well. Through this, I learned that when I face a crisis, I can solve problems that I have to solve without fear. That's what I learned at the World Camp. My role was to investigate Jeongjoksanseong and write a play script. And in my role, first of all, as I thought of words and sentences in a way that was easy to understand, I realized that I could clearly read the contents of a dictionary that was difficult to understand, while researching and organizing the name, structure, location, and events of Jeongjoksanseong And while writing the script, I thought about how to write scripts that improve transmission capability and understood it more deeply from the perspective of Yang Heon-soo, Eo Jae-yeon, and Lee Gyu-bo. What they want to do at the next camp is choose their own topic. Although all the topics that the teacher chose were interesting, students would be more interested in the topic and the quality of the results would be improved if they chose a topic that suited their job or interest. Also, I want to have time to develop friendship between teams. In fact, I didn't have much time to talk to my teachers and team members because I didn't have enough time to write a report and prepare a presentation. At the next camp, I think it would be good to spend time together. Finally, I would like to write my final thoughts on this global village. It was unfortunate that many unexpected things happened during our activities. But through this camp, we were able to learn not only knowledge but also the wisdom of future community life. I want to go back to the camp and get a lot out of this process.

The reason why I applied for this camp is because I felt that the field of interest was being investigated with the same friends, translated into English with the help of a native English teacher, and presented in English. So through this camp, I wanted to develop my English conversation skills by actively interacting with my native teacher. Also, I wanted to improve my ability to deliver information so that people can understand and have interest in the field that I researched. The subjects I chose were celebrities and historical sites in Ganghwa. Usually I thought history was a subject that memorizes, but I did not find it very interesting. So by choosing this topic, I thought I could increase my interest in history in the process of exploring it in person and organizing interesting presentations. Also, I felt that there was a lack of knowledge about the history of Ganghwado Island compared to other regions, so I chose this topic because I thought that I should learn as a student living in Ganghwado. All I knew about this topic was Lee Gyu-bo, a Goryeo best writer who lived in Ganghwa on the 1100th anniversary of Goryeo Dynasty in the first semester. Even that I did not know his detailed life story. However, during my participation in the global camp, I learned about his life story and representative works. I also learned about the purpose and characteristics of General Yang Heon-soo who defeated French troops in Jeongjoksanseong and Jeongjoksan Fortress located in Ganghwa Island. And I learned about General Eo Jae-yeon who defeated Mongolian forces in Gwangseongbo, the structural features of Gwangseongbo, and various events that took place in Gwangseongbo. Finally, I learned about the brief process of the Battle of Zacc. This is what I have learned in terms of historical knowledge. From now on, I will write about what I have learned outside of historical knowledge. First, I learned the ability to coordinate with my friends. It wasn't easy for us to decide at the beginning because we had a number of opinions when we took the whole topic and set the details. So we didn't just insist on each other's opinions, but we put together some of each other's opinions to come to a conclusion. I usually use the method of selecting one of the opinions to coordinate the opinions, so I realized that the process was different and this method could form a more colorful and interesting topic than a single one. Next, I learned the ability to solve emergency situations without being embarrassed. In fact, our team members' thinking and our teacher's intended topic were in different directions, resulting in a situation where the contents of different groups and our group overlapped. As the next day was announced, it was impossible to make a new paper and change the way it was presented. We were so embarrassed at first that we were at a loss what to do. However, we have now confirmed the changes that need to be made, and added parts that need to be added to each role and changed. So we were able to complete the paper safely and finish the presentation well. Through this, I learned that if I was faced with a crisis, I could sort out the parts that I had to solve without panic. And my role was to investigate Jeongjoksanseong and write a script for the play, and I learned that while playing my role, I knew many things that I did not know before. First of all, as I investigated and organized the events of Jeongjoksanseong's name, structure, location, and Jeongjoksanseong , I realized that the contents of the dictionary, which are difficult to understand, can clearly read if I think of words or sentences in a way that is easy for me to understand. While writing the script for the play, he thought about how to write a script that increases his transmission power, and learned to understand the contents more deeply from the standpoint of Yang Heon-soo, Eo Jae-yeon, and Lee Gyu-bo. The next thing that students want to do about the next camp is to pick a topic. Although all the topics you have chosen were interesting, students will be more interested in selecting topics that fit their career or interests, and the quality of the results will be improved. Also, I hope to have time to develop friendship between the teams. In fact, I didn't have much time to communicate with my teacher and team members because I didn't have enough time to write a paper and prepare a presentation. At the next camp, I think it would be good to have time to get closer to each other and increase unity.Lastly, I would like to write my final thoughts on this global camp.It was disappointing that many unexpected things happened during our promotion, but we learned something in our own way, and we were pleased to see the results of our efforts during the presentation. I want to participate in camp again and get a lot from this process again.

General Yang Heon-soo and Lee Yong-hee of Sunmujunggun led soldiers with Lee Hyun-gyu of the central army to cross the Sondolmok of Gwangseongjin to keep the fortress.
In 1866, French troops invaded Ganghwado Island. As a left-main commander, Yang headed about 500 soldiers and infiltrated Jeongjokmountain Fortress.
Yang Heon-soo chose to hide behind the walls of the fortress because his weapon performance was lower than that of the French army in the range of the Joseon army's close firelock distance and the number of bullets, and then use the tactic of intensive fire when the French troops came to the castle.
In other words, he fought a guerrilla war with the French Navy colonel Olivier. On November 7, 160 French marines led by Col. Olivier were shot to the brink of collapse by some 500 South Korean sailors who were trying to attack the fortress. He was appointed as the vice president of Hanseong, but he was appointed as Army Commander Hwanghae in 1869. The crushing defeat in the Battle of Jeongjok mountain fortress demoralized the French army, and in the end, Admiral Rose decided to withdraw.
The crushing defeat in the Battle of Jeongjokmountain Fortress dampened the morale of the French troops, and in the end, Admiral Rose decided to withdraw. According to the records of Joseon, six French soldiers were killed and 30 others wounded. French records show three deaths and 35 others wounded. In 2013, Seoul City designated Yang Heon-soo diary as a cultural property. Thanks to Yang Heon-soo, the documents and books kept in Jeongjok Mountain's archive inside Jeongjokmountain Fortress were protected from looting.
In 1871, when he was serving as a soldier, he conducted special tests for the selection of army Officer every year as a way to encourage the new system to strengthen his defense, and was given preferential treatment according to his grades, grain and cotton, and was appointed as a soldier for another year as such political achievements were recognized. The following year, he arrested and killed a group of pirates who were on the coast of Hwanghae.
One of the famous historical sites in Ganghwa is Jeongjoksanseong Fortress, located at 222m above sea level in the southern part of Ganghwa Island.

The fortress is believed to have been first built by the kingdom of Baekje during the Three Kingdoms Period. At that time, it was not only a gateway to the Han River, but also played the role of a defense mechanism as a fortress with only two roads – one to the East and one to the South being navigational. It was first built during the Three Kingdoms Period and then reconstructed by
king Yeongjo of Joseon.During the dynasties of Goryeo and Joseon, it was the most important government complex to protect the outskirts of the capital city as well as the city of Hanyang. Gangwhado is often referred to as “the throat of Seoul”, and the Jeongjoksanseong Fortress is in such a critical position that it could be called “the brain of Gangwhado”.consists of five mountain peaks, and the fortress was built where their ridges and valleys merge.
As the fortress wall was built along the topography of the mountain, the height difference between its northern and its southern part appears to be large.Surrounded by steep cliffs, the fortress facilities include four gates to four corresponding inside fortresses, namely Dongmun (East Gate), Nammun (South Gate), Seomun (West Gate), and Bukmun (North Gate).A distinguishing feature of the South Gate is its gate tower, Jonghae-roo, while the North Gate was built as a hidden gate.Inside Jeongjoksanseong Fortress, there are other buildings such as Jeondeungsa Temple, Jeongjoksan Temple, Gunchang and Gungigoo Military Warehouses The most recognizable amongst the gates is the East Gate, which has a brick-lined arch built over its pillars, similar to the West Gate which is also arch-shaped.Inside the fortress, there is a temple believed to have been built during the Goryeo Dynasty.
In 1866 when the French army invaded Ganghwado Island, a fierce battle between Korea and France took place here.
In response to the French army that occupied the then Ganghwa branch of Byeonginyang in 1860, thousands of Korean soldiers were dispatched to Joseon’s Ganghwa Island.Fortress on November 7 after crossing the Ganghwa coast with some 500 soldiers.
Upon receiving news of the Korean army's entry into the fortress, French admiral Rose sent Colonel Olivier to take over the fortress. When French troops finally approached the castle, they fired close shots, causing the death of six and the retreat of 35 wounded French soldiers. French officers suggested attacking Jeongjok Mountain again, but Commander Rose ordered the army to withdraw from Ganghwa Island on the grounds that it was not strong enough to subdue the fortress. The battle resulted in many casualties and a setback in the war, forcing French troops to withdraw from Ganghwa.
To commemorate Yang Heon-soo's victory at the South gate, a memorial stone was erected at the site.

===Eo Jae Yeon===
*the life story of Eo Jae Yeon
1823 He was born.
1841 He passed the military service examination and became an Gongchungdobyungmajerdosa (commander of army).
1866 Byeongin Yangyo broke up and defended at Gwangseongbo.
1871 During Byeongin Yangyo, he was recommended to Samgunboo (the government office in charge of military affairs)
and dispatched to Sunmoo-young as a general.
1871 During Shin Mi Yangyo in Gwangseongbo, he was killed by a gunshot wound by James Doherty.
After his death, he was promoted to Byeongjopanseo Jisamgunbusa.
(Leader of Byeongjo, which was in charge of military affairs.)

*Achievement (related to Ganhwa)
Byeongin Yangyo (French campaign against Korea)

In 1866 when the French army invaded Ganghwa Island, the two countries had a fierce battle here.
In response to the French army that occupied the then Ganghwa Byeongin Yangyo in 1866, thousands of soldiers were dispatched to Ganghwa Island in Joseon
General Yang, who felt unable to respond directly to the French army, secretly gathered at Jungjok mountain Fortress on November 7 after crossing the Ganghwa coast with some 500 captives. Upon receiving news of the Korean army's entry into the fortress, French admiral
Rose sent Colonel Olivier to take over the fortress. When French troops finally approached the castle, they fired close shots, causing six dead and 35 wounded to retreat. The French soldiers were on alert and approached Jungjok mountain Fortress with a large load of food. French officers suggested attacking Jungjok Mountain Fortress again, but Commander Rose ordered that the army be withdrawn from Ganghwa Island on the grounds that it was not strong enough to subdue the fortress.
As a result, the Korean military only had five casualties, but the French army lost 60 to 70 people. The battle resulted in many casualties and a setback in the war, forcing French troops to withdraw from Ganghwa.

Shin mi Yangyo (United States-Korea War of 1871)

The war situation is not good when United States-Korea War of 1871 occurs, and the U.S. forces occupy Chojin and Deokjinjin and attack Gwangseongbo, the main quake. The 600-man veteran, who was on the defensive in Gwangseongjin, struggled on June 11 to fight a U.S. general offensive that took over Deokjinjin. As he is pushed from here to Son Dol Mok-dondae, General Eo Jae-yeon will prepare for the final battle with 350 soldiers under his command. The U.S. and Joseon troops will stage a fierce battle of hand-to-hand fight in Son Dol Mok-dondae. General Eo Jae-yeon fought against the U.S. on both sides of the water, but went into a field of a fierce fight and fought without backing down until the end, before being killed by the U.S. military sailor James Doherty's bayonet.
In the battle, the Joseon military suffered a crushing defeat, with 53 soldiers killed, 100 killed and 20 captured. However, the U.S. military, which praised the Chosun soldiers for their persistent battles, politely burys the officers, including the officer's staff. In Joseon, he added a tribute to his brother, Eo Jae-soon, to his brother, General Eo Jae-yeon, to his military court, and erected a monument to the loyalty of the two brothers.
