過寧海縣。是日雨。巡檢司對岸有越溪鋪。自鋪前舍舟乘陸。從溪岸而步。溪之通海口甚廣闊。不知其源之所從來。行過西洋嶺許家山。至巿奧鋪。鋪中人饋茶數梡。又行至白嶠嶺。有軍卒二十餘人。擔轎來迎臣等。臣等八人。又乘過進士坊。至寧海縣之白嶠驛。驛在縣治之中。有知縣姓唐者。供饋臣等。期至於飽。因乘轎冒雨而行。過桐山鋪，梅林鋪，江𣳬嶺，缸空鋪，海口鋪。其間有三大川二大橋。忘其名。夜二更。至西店驛以宿。驛有甲兵警戍。如防禦所。

순검사의 건너편 언덕에 월계포(越溪鋪)가 있었습니다.
월계포 앞에 배를 놓아두고 육지에 올라 시냇가의 언덕을 따라서 걸었습니다.
시내의 바다로 통하는 어귀는 매우 넓었는데 그 원류가 어디인지 알 수 없었습니다.
가다가 서양령(西洋嶺) 허가산(許家山)[1]을 지나서 시오포(市奧鋪)에 이르니, 포(鋪) 안의 사람이 차 몇 사발을 대접하였습니다.
또 가다가 백교령(白嶠嶺)에 이르니, 군졸 20여 인이 가마를 메고 와서 신 등을 맞이하였습니다.
신 등 여덟 사람은 또 가마를 타고 진사방(進士坊)을 지나서 영해현의 백교역(白嶠驛)에 이르렀습니다.
역은 현치(縣治) 안에 있었습니다. 당(唐)이란 성을 가진 지현(知縣)이 신 등에게 음식을 배부르게 먹였습니다.
가마를 타고 비를 무릅쓰고 길을 떠나서 동산포(桐山鋪), 매림포(梅林鋪), 강격령(江𣳬嶺), 항공포(缸空鋪), 해구포(海口鋪)를 지났습니다.
그 중간에 큰 내 셋과 큰 다리 둘이 있었는데, 그 이름을 잊었습니다.
밤 2경쯤에 서점역(西店驛)이에 이르러 유숙하였습니다.
서점역에는 갑병(甲兵)이 경비하고 있었는데 방어소(防禦所) 같았습니다.
26th Day. Passing Ning-hai County. This day it rained.
On the shore opposite the police station was Yüeh-ch’i Stop [P’u]. We left the boat in front of the stop and went by land. We walked along the bank of the stream, the mouth of which, where it entered the sea, was very wide. I do not know the source from which it came. We crossed Hsi-yang Range and Hsü-chia Mountain and came to Shih-ao Stop. The people at the stop served us many cups of tea. We went on and reached Pai-ch'iao Range. Over twenty soldiers had come there carrying sedan-chairs to greet us. Eight of us riding again, we passed Chin-shih-fang and came to Pai-ch'iao Station [I] of Ning-hai County. The station was in the county seat, and the County Magistrate, T'ang, served us food. We ate enough to be full and then got into the sedan-chairs and went on, braving the rain. We passed T’ung-shan Stop, Mei-lin Stop, Chiang[chi?] Range, Kang-k’ung Stop, and Hai-k'ou Stop. In the interval there were three big rivers and two big bridges, the names of which I have forgotten. In the second watch of the night we came to Hsi-tien Station and put up there. The station was guarded like a defense point by armed men.
