初六日,晴,行至石河,南有五花城,乃唐太宗征高句麗時薛仁貴所築也,至遷安驛,驛在山海衛城西門外,城之東南有孤山臨海濱,城北有角山吃立,山海關當其中,北負山,南帶海,相距十餘里間,為夷夏要險之地,秦將蒙恬所築長城,跨出于角山之腹, ____爲衛之東城,以達于海. 有東門遞運所在城中.

동문체운소(東門遞運所)가 성안에 있었습니다.

We came to Ch’ien-an Station, which was outside the west gate of the wall of Shan-hai Garrison. Southeast of the wall was Mt. Ku, overlooking the seashore. Mt. Chüeh was north of the wall, and at its very peak stood Shan-haikuan. There were some ten li between the mountains that pressed against the north and the sea that skirted the south. It was a strategic point between barbarians and Chinese. The Great Wall built by the Ch'in general Meng T’ien35 was projected from the waist of Mt. Chüeh, passed as the east wall of the garrison, and extended to the sea. In the wall was Tung-men Transfer Station.
