성명을 모르는 한 사람이 자못 병 치료할 줄을 알았는데, 신의 위태함을 보고서 큰 침으로 신의 열 손가락 끝을 찌르니 검은 피가 마구 솟구쳤습니다.

그 사람은 “위태롭구나! 위태롭구나!”라고 말하였습니다.

“향화대기탕(香火大氣湯)으로 치료해야 합니다.”

The man said, “Very dangerous, very dangerous!”
Kim Chung and Chong Po hastened to inform the Bureau of Receptions of the Ministry of Rites; a report from the Central Post Hotel also reached the Ministry of Rites. They sent Chu Min, a Doctor of the Imperial Academy of Medicine, to come and treat my sickness. Chu Min felt my pulse and said, “This sickness is primarily because of injury to the seven affections and secondly because you have caught cold. That is why you have this sickness; you must take good care of it.”
Chong Po said, “What medicine shall we use to treat it?”
Chu Min said, “Treat it with fragrant fire vitality tonic [hsiang-huo-tach’i-tang].” He hurried to the Imperial Academy of Medicine and came back with a drug. It was seven spirits regulating tonic [chia-chien-ch’i-ch’i-tang]. He mixed it and simmered it with his own hands, made me drink it, and took his leave. In the second watch of the night, I vomited the medicine I had drunk. 16For Kou Ch'ien see CKJM 1525; FSJW 98: 43v. The latter source misprints his surname "Hou."
