무목청년연맹

Definition

무목청년연맹 (務木靑年聯盟)은 3.1운동 이후 전국적으로 청년들이 주축이 되어 문화운동이 전개되었다. 목포에서도 청년들이 주도하여 1924년 목포청년회관을 건립하고 1925년 목포와 무안의 청년들이 모여 무목청년연맹을 조직하였다. 목포무산청년회, 무안군 암태․자은․비금․도초청년회 등 5개 청년단체로 발기된 무목청년연맹은 암태청년회관에서 발회식을 거행하고 무안 목포지방에 산재한 단체를 연합하고자 목포 호남정 7번지에 연맹 창립사무소를 차리고 각 지방에 통지장을 보낸 바, 지도청년수양회, 해제청년회, 임자청년회 등이 가맹하여 1925년 1월 10일 남교동 희성유치원에서 창립총회를 열었다.
