십팔은행목포지점(十八銀行木浦支店)은 1906년(丙午, 明治39년) 9월 본정(중앙동)에 개설되었다. 공칭자본은 1천5백만원이었고, 본점은 일본 長崎에 있었으며, 그러므로 목포지점은 주식회사 長崎저축은행 대리점 업무를 보았다. 목포부 금융기관의 효시는 1898년(戊戌, 明治31년) 10월 1일에 설치된 주식회사 제일은행 목포출장소이며, 호남은행 목포지점의 진출은 1920년(庚申, 大正9년)이었다.
