Definition
목포이사청 (木浦理事廳, 1906 ~ 1910)은 을사조약이 체결된 직후인 1905년 11월 22일 ‘통감부 및 이사청 관제’에 관한 법령에 따라 목포의 일본영사관은 목포이사청으로 그 역할이 바뀌었고, 1910년 8월 29일에 일본이 한국을 강제로 병합하고, 10월 1일 지방관제를 개편하면서 무안부는 목포부로 개칭되었으며, 이사청사는 목포부청사로 사용되었다. 일제는 통감부 설치와 함께 한국의 각 지방에서 일본인들의 활동과 이익을 보장하고, 지방행정을 장악하기 위해 이사청을 설치, 운용하였다. 1906년 1월 부산·마산·군산·목포·경성·인천·평양·진남포·원산·성진 등 10개소에 이사청이 설립되었다.
